FRNDS, even now there is no point in apologising for yet another hibernation, for by now you must have been quite accustomed to this habit of mine. Dedication- dedication that's what i'm missing these days. Dedication is a word easily spoken but hard to bring out alive. And i find i am lacking that thing right from the time i started out here. The no of times i log in to blogger.com are so rare that sometimes i have even forgotten my password to enter here and then i have again to open my email inbox and retreive it which is ******. I would have gldly given out this one to any "dedicated" person dedicated enough to write blogs for me.....but no no body would write for me for nothing. And moreover why would i let anyone encroach upon my property. True that my 'property' is virtual and i do not need to pay any taxes over it but still its my property- its my intellectual property so to say. I have built this space right from day 1 and whatever silly posts or comments i recieved its all mine......so i cant give up what i truy have.
This personal example was given to aware you frnds of the growing craze over intellectual property rights and i personally think that this one is a step in the right direction. Though this has been a gorwing universal phenomenon on the rise, most are still not aware of this one from the book of rights. Every single day rights are getting encroached upon but fewer cases do actually come up. It does not even come to the arbitration table. All this said it must be seen that there are actually some genuine reasons behind this one. In such cases the rights are generally available to the world at large- in rem. And the no of offences commited as susch are also countless. So bringing every offender to arbitration can be something very tough. But the rule of law must prevail. And people whose rights have been actually encroached upon should come up. One or two good 'thrashings' to the offenders and it wills serve the purpose of detterence. Also some precautionary measures must be taken.
- Change your email password every once in a while.
- Check your sent mail accounts.
- Check that nothing undesirable was sent carrying your username.
- Also while subscibing to any new website check out their privacy policy.
- If they want you to forward emails from your account see to it what email is actually being sent. ...... some precautionary measures so to say.
But you must be wondering that can your email account be also considered to be your intellectual property? Actually this era of internet is called WEB 2.0 where your simple email account makes you a blogger, a networking social etc. but it is thorugh the use of such sites where you try to make yourself famous by taking out your secrets and private information. This is most necessarily your property. Even if it is'nt an intellectual one but you certainly have rights over them. So do take good care of these....
More on this on my next post.
Bye for now and a happy sunday and have a gr8 week ahead.
