Hello Again...!!! Anecdotes of a very very BAD EXPERIENCE!!

HI FRNDS , its really been a long long gap since i last posted an entry. The reasons behind which i will be discussing here. But as i have always been mentioning since earlier times I can never be an avid blogger but the ethusiasm shall never die, and so i am here again.
My long hibernation from this space was due to one very official reason- i was disconnected from the www all this while! The matter of fact is that, earlier i subscribed a Dial- Up connection offered by BSNL- the State owned telecommunications company and the connection was under BUY-YOUR-HOURS scheme. My a/c ended on March. So i suggested that we now subscribe to a broadband connection from the same service provider, little knowing that that was the beginning of the trouble.
There was an advertisement in the news papers that BSNL Broadband is now available @ 125/- rental a month. So i thought it as a noble idea to subscribe to it particularly pertaining to 2 reasons. First, for domestic and study purposes it would suffice my needs of downloading maerials from the Net and, secondly that would be economic too. Act as i thought i collected the forms and submitted it with all the completed formalities. I was promised a connection within a month.( The day was 31st March,08).
On 15th of May i called the JTO of the local BSNL office. Frustruated as i was i asked him how long more it would take. He said, i would be getting it within two days and it was true. The modem came up along with the papers related to the service.
Next i started up the PC and WOW! the modem turned out to be a faulty one. I called up the office again stating my problem. He asked me to return the modem to serviceman immediately and apply for a new modem. The servicemen came up a week later and after 2 days i got the clarification and verification that the MODEM was OFFICIALLY FAULTY (although prior to this i had already mentioned my problem).
Nevertheless a fresh application was made, another 1 month's promise was made and after some more delays i finally got my TYPE II modem, which supposedly was better than the earlier one.
But no my friend, you are completely wrong if you guessed that my share of miseries got over.

The next thing that happened was that the modem could not be configured. I sought help from the local owner of an Internet cafe who also dealt in installing softwares. What he said was astounding. He said my Pc has had a VIRUS attack and needed a recovery with a full WINDOWS re-install, and before i could say or do anything he started to Un-install some important softwares. I asked him to leave immediately if he wanted his welfare. I then repaired the PC with the RESTORE function that WINDOWS XP provides. The Pc problem was solved.
Next i called up the internet helpdesk which raised my call after 2 days of repeated calling. (The problem now was that my username and password was held invalid). The helper from his desk assured me of prompt action, but where? Another week went by. The prompt action had no results.
I then asked for help from my neighbourhood gentleman who also inciadentally is an Internet's person. He asked me to contact a higher official from BSNL and gave me his no. (obviosly he was known to him) but also mentioned that he would be available after 1 in the afternoon.'
I called.
He recieved.
He asked me to call again after 15 mins.
OOF 15 mins.
OK.

....after 15 mins. .....

I called again.
He recieved the call.
He said - plz see if the problem is solved.
I typed my username and password.
AND...
EUREKA it was there, i finally got my connection.
I thanked that person immensely ( i did'nt know why, I should have been angry...)

And so i am here with you again!

(psst THE PROBLEM:- THE DEAR BSNL PEOPLE HAD 'HURRIEDLY' ISSUED MY MODEM WITHOUT REGISTERING ME ON THEIR NETWORK. WHAT DO CALL IT? I WOULD SAY MY CUP OF MISFORTUNE FILLED UP WITH THAT.)

THAT'S ALL FOLKS !
C YA NXT SUNDAY.
BYE ........... ..... ...
